Sony Claims Fastest SD Card

According to Sony the SF-G UHS-II SD card is the fastest yet, with read/write speeds reaching 300MB/s and 299MB/s respectively, making it perfect for photographers and videographers.

Samsung Upgrades Gear VR at MWC

Samsung presents an upgrade on the Gear VR headset-- one complete with a physical controller accessory promising "quicker selection and interaction" in virtual experiences.

Gear VR controllerThe actual headset is more or less identical to the Gear VR designed for use with the recalled Galaxy Note 7. It offers a 101-degree field of view and is compatible with both USB-C and microUSB Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Note5, S6 Edge+, S6 and S6 Edge.

Meanwhile the controller (imaginatively named "Gear VR Controller") is the result of a collaboration with Oculus. Designed for single-hand use, it has a touchpad and trigger for in-game actions, as well as integrated home, volume and back buttons for immersive media controls.

Moment Kickstarts Battery Photo Case

Moment combines mobile photography with battery cases with the Battery Photo Case-- a self-descriptive iPhone 7 case, with two mounting slots matching the iPhone 7 Plus' dual-lens setup.

Moment CaseThe slots allow users to add Moment lenses to either of the two iPhone 7 Plus camera (but not simultaneously). An iPhone 7 version featuring one mounting slot is also available. A new lens-locking interface clicks lenses in place. Customers can attach previous Moment lenses through a small adapter, although the company says the lenses will be reworked in the future for use with the new interface.

As for the battery, the iPhone 7 version carries a 2500mAh power pack, while the iPhone 7 Plus version clocks at 3500mAh. Case construction is in plastic and rubber, with a Lightning port at the bottom passing power to the phone.

BeatsX Earbuds to Ship Soon?

According to online store monitor iStockNow the long delayed BeatsX earbuds might start shipping soon-- online Apple Stores appear "all ready for the BeatsX launch."

BeatsXThe Apple store page currently states the BeatsX are "coming February." iStockNow also cites "some activity" on the Best Buy US online store, which lists the earbuds as "coming soon."

Gamevice presents a collection of mobile gaming controllers fitting most iDevices, including the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini.

Gamevice controllerAll the controllers feature the same 2-part design customers fit on each side of the iDevice in question. One part of the Gamevice controller connects to the smartphone or tablet via Lightning port, while a Lightning port on the outside allows one to charge the iDevice while playing. When not charging the controller sips power from the connect device's battery.

Controls come in the shape of 2 thumbsticks, directional pad, shoulder buttons, 4 face buttons and a menu button. The iPhone 7/7Plus versions add a headphone jack, and Gamevice promises the controllers offer more comfortable thumbsticks.
