Oppo Hides Find X Camera With Mechanised Slider

Oppo takes on the true edge-to-edge smartphone display with the Find X-- a motorised mechanism slides the backside to reveal a 25MP front-facing camera and a rear-facing dual-camera array.

Oppo Find XAs a bezel-free flagship device the Find X lacks buttons or a fingerprint button. Instead, it uses the sliding mechanism to reveal the camera in order face unlock the device via iPhone X-style infrared depth detection. Dubbed "O-Face," the system promises to work in nearly all lighting conditions and allows for portrait lighting effects and "Omoji," the Oppo take on Animoji.

OnePlus Presents OnePlus 6

Following months of rumours the latest OnePlus smartphone gets an official reveal-- the OnePlus 6, a handset with a 6.3-inch OLED display featuring, as many current flagship phones do, a notch at the top.

OnePlus 6The OnePlus 6 shares other similarities with top-of-the-line smartphones apart from the notch. It also has an "all-glass" design with minimal bezels around the display, a OnePlus first. The display offers 2280 x 1080 resolution, while specs include a Snapdragon 845 processor, Adreno 630 graphics, up to 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. Power comes through a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge fast charging.

Connectivity includes a USB-C port, headphone jack, Bluetooth 5 and support for x2 nano-SIM cards. Inside the aforementioned notch is a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, while the rear-facing dual-camera array has a primary 16MP sensor and optical image stabilisation, while the secondary camera has a 20MP sensor. Both cameras have an f/1.7 aperture, and can record 4K video at up to 60fps, as well as super slow-mo 240 and 480fps video at 720p.

Lenovo Plans Bezel-, Notch-Free Phone?

A sketch shared by Lenovo VP Chang Chen on Chinese Twitter-equivalent Weibo hints what the next smartphone flagship from the company looks like-- a true all-screen device lacking in bezels and camera notch.

Lenovo sketchLenovo is still to confirm the actual details behind the device, but the sketch does follow the release of a partial image of a similar, all-screen device. The post by Chen claims the device has a screen-to-body ratio of 95%, the highest in the industry so far, and features no less than four, as yet unspecified, technological breakthroughs together with "18 patented technologies."

After months of leaks rumours LG officially launches the G7 ThinQ-- the latest flagship smartphone from the company with a focus on ThinQ AI-powered functionality.

LG G7 The G7 is a 6.1-inch handset with a notch on top of the LCD 3120 x 1440 resolution display housing the front-facing 8MP camera. Inside are a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage and a 3000mAh battery.  The body is covered in Gorilla Glass 5, is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance and meets the requirements of the MIL-STD 810G US military tests for performance in "harsh environments."
