Computex 2014 sees Acer launch its first wearable device, the Liquid Leap "smartband", together with five Liquid-branded smartphones-- the Liquid Jade, Liquid X1, E700, E600 and Liquid Z200.
As the first Acer wearable, the Liquid Leap features a 1-inch touchscreen inside a waterproof rubber wristband, and provides basic fitness tracking of the steps, running distance, calories burnt and sleep cycle variety. It also allows smartphone notifications (incoming call and SMS) and music control.
Acer claims the built-in rechargeable battery allows 5-7 days of constant use, while smartphone connectivity comes via Bluetooth 4.0.
The Liquid Jade is something of a companion device to the Leap. Supposedly the "most compact" smartphone around, it features a 5-inch IPS display, 1.3GHz CPU, 1GB RAM and 13MP camera inside casing 6.8 - 0.75mm thick.
