After months of hearsay and rumours Samsung is ready to present its second foldable smartphone-- Galaxy Z Flip, a clamshell foldable device featuring what the company claims is a flexible glass display.

Like the Motorola Razr revival, Galaxy Z Flip is very reminiscent of the flip-phones of years past. It is the bigger of the two devices, as the nearly edge-to-edge display unfolds into a 6.7-inch 2636 x 1080 resolution OLED panel. A three-stop "Hideaway Hinge" holds the device open at three different different, while a "Flex" mode splits the UI into two 4-inch screens, with a different app running on each half. The device also has a tiny 1.06-inch, 300 x 116 resolution cover display, allowing one to check the time or simple notifications without actually opening the full display.

In terms of specs, Samsung does not specify the processor inside the device other than saying it is a 7nm 64-bit number. It also carries 8GB RAM, 256GB storage and a 3300 mAh battery complete with wireless and fast charging. On the camera side the Galaxy Z Flip features a 10MP shooter with F/2.4 aperture on the front, while the rear has a two 12MP sensors, one with a wide-angle F/1.8 lens, optical image stabilisation and up to X8 digital zoom, and the other with an ultra-wide lens featuring F/2.2 aperture and 123-degree field of view.

The Galaxy Z Flip is available in "select markets" from 14 February 2020 in a choice of two colours, purple and black.
