Qualcomm Prepares for Wifi 6

Qualcomm celebrates a "Wifi 6 Day" with the launch of four platforms handling the wireless standard, together with an "end-to-end vision and differentiated technology approach that is designed to help expand the global impact of Wifi 6."

The company brings together wifi, Bluetooth and other non-cellular connectivity within the Snapdragon range of platforms within the FastConnect subsystem. The latest version of the subsystem, FastConnect 6800, includes support for Uplink MU-MIMO, a Wifi 6 innovation promising improvements for demanding applications such as live video sharing, online gaming and AR/VR.

Qualcomm also covers the automotive side, since the QCA6696 in-car Wifi 6 chip brings both next generation wifi and Bluetooth to the auto industry. It complements the Snapdragon Automotive 4G and 5G platforms, and promises fast, secure and efficient wifi even while operating in congested and dense environments inside moving vehicles.
