Xiaomi continues to add on the Black Shark line of gaming phones with the launch of the Black Shark 3-- a handset available in regular and Pro versions, with the Pro adding physical pop-up shoulder buttons.
The two 21mm-wide buttons raise 1.5mm from the body of the Pro device, and Xiaomi claims they can withstand over 300000 lists and over 1 million clicks. The buttons make part of an oversized gaming phone, one with a 7.1-inch 3120 x 1440 resolution AMOLED display featuring a 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate. Also included are 8/12GB RAM and a large 5000mAh battery.
Customers not interested in the shoulder buttons can get the regular Black Shark 3, a smaller option with a 6.67-inch 2400 x 1800 AMOLED display. The screen still offers 90Hz refresh and 270Hz touch sampling, but the battery is also slightly shrunken down at 4720mAh.
Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset, and include two heat pipes inside the logic board Xiaomi says keep the handset cool even during gaming. The display offers adjustable pressure sensitivity on the left and right parts of the screen (in landscape mode). The devices also feature the same camera setup, with a triple-camera array on the back and a front-facing 20MP shooter. The back of the two phone also includes an 18W magnetic charging plug, and the USB-C port allows 65W fast charging.
The Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro are available now on a preorder basis, at least in Xiaomi's home China.
