LG Intros G Pro 2, 3rd Gen L Series

Ahead of Mobile World Congress 2014 LG launches smartphones for all market tiers-- the high-end G Pro 2 and the lower-end third generation of L Series devices.

LG L SeriesA successor to the 2013 Optimus G Pro, the G Pro 2 is a 5.9-inch number featuring 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, 16/32GB storage (expandable via microSD card) and a removable 3200mAh battery.

Something called "Knock Code"-- actually an update on the KnockON feature first seen in the LG G2-- allows users to power on and unlock device by tapping the display with one of 86367 combination. Users can input codes anywhere on the display using 2-8 taps thanks to an "intelligent algorithm and advanced hardware."

The rear-facing camera also sees improvement with a 13MP sensor, OIS+ (Optical Image Stabiliser Plus) anti-shake technology, recording at either 120fps (at HD resolution) or 4K UHD resolutions and software additions such as Magic Focus (allows users to select depth of focus before saving) and Flash for Selfie (adds a bright white background in self-portrait mode).

Meanwhile the L Series III lineup features 3 devices-- the 3.5-inch L40, 4.5-inch L70 and 4.7-inch L90. All build on the earlier Optimus LII range, with 1.2GHz dual-core processors, 1GB RAM (in the L70 and L90), Android 4.4 OS and optional Quick Window accessory support.

All the smartphones mentioned above should be available for closer inspection at MWC 2014.
