Pelican Products launches the Marine smartphone cases at CES 2016-- the first waterproof iPhone case line from the company promising protection from drops, snow, dirt, dust and, of course, water.
The maker claims the Marine cases feature 5 layers of military-grade shock protection, while a scratch-resistant screen protector helps users avoid display damage. The case should also allow one to submerge the iPhone in up to 2m of water for 30 minutes, as well as protect against the elements.
"Smart phones, by and large have no real defense against water, but now they're defended by the Pelican Marine case and 40+ years of protection know-how," Pelican says. "Consumers can now hit the pool or beach with the confidence of knowing their phone will be one hundred percent protected and ready for that next amazing selfie or action shot."
The Pelican Marine cases cater for iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and 6s Plus customers, and will hit the market from February 2016.
