LaCie reveals a first collaboration with Seagate at CES 2014-- the Fuel, a 1TB "go-anywhere" AirPlay-compatible wireless HDD for use with smartphones, tablets and other connected devices.
"Consumers rely on their mobile devices more than any other personal technology," the company says. "The LaCie Fuel enriches mobile entertainment by providing consumers with ample storage and untethered accessibility."
The Fuel is battery-powered (with up to 10 hours of use) and creates an own wireless network for direct connection with other devices. It also acts a wifi hotspot as a when connected to the internet.
AirPlay compatibility allows users to mirror content on mobile devices to compatible TVs with a single tap. Handling file access and organisation is the free Seagate Media iOS and Android app.
The LaCie Fuel should start shipping soon.
